Gardiner Freeman (1831-1848)

Fitzwilliam, NH

In June 1848, 17-year old Gardner Freeman (alias Hutchinson) died in Fitzwilliam, NH of consumption. He was listed in the Fitzwilliam Church records as Colored. Freeman was buried in the Fitzwilliam Town Cemetery in the south corner of the graveyard. His grave is located four feet from Amos Freeman’s grave in the Moody family range (all people of color) and 34 feet west of Oliver Whitcomb’s gravestone.
