In 1910, William E. Brown resided in Marlow where he worked as a farmer at his home on East Road.  In the 1910 census, he is described as a 56-year old, Black man from New York.  His wife of 20 years, Mabel Brown, was white.  They had five children together, according to the census, but only one was living in 1910.

GENEALOGICAL SUMMARY

WILLIAM E. BROWN was born around 1854 in NY. He married Mabel Brown in 1890. While in Marlow, he may have resided on a lot of land that  was originally granted to Sylvanus Huntley, according to Marlow historian Elgin Jones.
